Mac repairs & upgrades
How confident? If you can find another service provider offering all of the below at these prices (we can’t), we would like you to tell us about it! This is what we give you:
NO CALLOUT CHARGE - whether we come to you or we work on your machine at our workshop, you pay the same. Most service providers charge both a callout fee and an hourly rate.
FLEXIBLE MOBILE SERVICE - we can provide a surprising number of repairs and upgrades at your location, enabling you to get back to work quickly and with minimum hassle. We also carry mobile ESD safety equipment to prevent damage to components.
SIX MONTH GUARANTEE - on all parts supplied or repaired by us. If a part we have repaired or replaced fails within six months of the date of repair or fitting, we will promptly replace that part at no cost to you. We are not aware of another service provider offering more than three month warranties.
OUR CHARGES:
General labour charge - £45 per hour - this applies when we carry out:
- Data migration;
- Network design & setup;
- Security & anti-virus setup;
- Installation of Macs & peripherals;
- General consultancy work.
Assessment charge - £45 - this applies when we assess your Mac to find out what’s wrong - and we waive this charge if we subsequently do the work for you!
SERVICE CHARGES
Our service charges are carefully worked out according to the time we are likely to spend working on your Mac and the complexity of the task. They cover the labour for the job concerned. The price you see is the price you pay - there’s no VAT to pay and there are no hidden extras*.
Service Charge 1 - £25 - mobile or workshop
This applies to less complex jobs, like fitting RAM.
Service Charge 2 - £75 - mobile (most jobs) or workshop
This applies to more complex jobs, like fitting hard drives or optical drives in smaller Macs.
Service Charge 3 - £125 - workshop only
This applies to highly complex jobs, like replacement and “soak-testing” of a logicboard (the main processing board of your Mac) or a display. This can only be carried out at our workshop.

*In the event that we start to carry out one of the above jobs on the basis of what appears to be needed, but it becomes evident that there are additional problems with your Mac, we would normally waive the service charge and instead charge our general labour charge from the time we started. The general labour charge would then include the labour for fitting of required parts once a more complete diagnosis has been made. We would, of course, contact you first to advise and discuss the cost of any additional parts/work before proceeding.
**Optical drive replacement in 12″ PowerBooks requires complete disassembly of all internal parts and is therefore £125. The 15″ and 17″ PowerBooks and all MacBook Pros and iBooks are charged at the normal £75.
